Dunbar Coach Larry Poynter rewarded senior Tyler Cress, the team manager, for his hard work the last four years. He handed Cress a Dunbar uniform and told him to suit up and, in the sixth inning, he told Cress to grab a bat and lead off. When he was announced as a pinch-hitter, his teammates went wild in the dugout. Cress later scored on a bases-loaded walk.

Police arrested 41-year-old Christopher Tolle and charged him with stalking a high school student and breaking into her home. Mandatory motor vehicle insurance notices to begin statewide in June

As mandated by the Kentucky Legislature, uninsured motorists across the Commonwealth will begin receiving notices in June that registrations for their personal vehicles will be canceled if they do not obtain required insurance or show proof of existing insurance.

Essex community mourns 2-year-old killed in hit and run

A Heartland community is trying to get through a tragedy, one that should strike a nerve with parents. Over the weekend, a family from a community just outside of Essex in Stoddard County was visiting Kansas City. Authorities say early Saturday morning, the 2-year-old boy wandered out of the motel room, and a car hit and killed the boy.
